Sergio Muñoz Gómez graduated as a Telecommunications Engineer from the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia in 2000, where he also began his doctoral studies, obtaining a Diploma in Advanced Studies.

The beginning of his professional career is linked to R&D&I activities related to interoperability between agents, processes, and applications. He has been the R&D director of the Construction Technology Institute, AIDICO, and later CEO and co-founder of the start-up Laurentia Technologies.

He has been President of the buildingSMART Spanish Chapter for five years, since its foundation in 2012, working for the implementation of BIM in Spain, and currently holds the position of Secretary General of the association.

He has written numerous articles on BIM methodology and actively participates in various working groups, such as the es. BIM commission, the Building the Future commission, and the UNE-CT41-SC13 standardization committee, of which he is currently president.

He currently works as a BIM consultant and also teaches at various universities, including the Universidad Politecnica de Catalunya, Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, and the Universidad Europea de Madrid.
